I haven't seen anyone post this exciting news yet, so I'm happy to do it. It was announced last week that an opera of our beloved 'Atonement' is currently in the works. It is being composed by Michael Berkeley with libretto by poet Craig Raine (though McEwan will have some input). Optimistically, it is slated for a 2013 London premiere.
